College,What not to wear

College helps define your personal fashion statement. What you wear becomes very important. First impressions are very important so it makes sense to put your best ‘look’ forward.

You have crossed the major hurdle of 12th Board, and are now starting a whole new chapter of your life. We all remember the time spent in college.

This is the time of life when you have numerous opportunities and you come into your own, and define your own style, your future life. The decisions you take this time of your life will make your future.

This is also the time when parents feel the kids have finally grown up. Your child becomes a social bee, what with the social media and high level of exposure from media. College also helps define your personal fashion statement. What you wear becomes very important. First impressions are very important so it makes sense to put your best ‘look’ forward. Am sure there are many advising you what to wear in college, what’s in nowadays. Our fashion experts will give you few suggestions which will help you seek your own style and comfort.

Firstly- avoid all Bling. Shimmering tops which act as flashlights are a big NO! Bling or shimmering, sequined dresses is like shouting for attention; which you should not be doing in your first few days of college. Over the top things usually should be avoided.

Secondly- wearing pointed heels in college is asking for trouble. High heels may help you get that extra inches, but it’s not so much of a comfort when you have to zoom from one class to another. We are not here to stop you from making your personal style statement but let’s reserve heels for parties please.

Thirdly- the grunge look went out long back, so the unkempt hair and shabby look will not make you look like a ‘RockStar’! The scruffy look won’t get you many girlfriends. This is especially for boys, grooming is important.

Fourth- this is especially for girls, please do not play matching now. You are in your teens now. Having matching accessories to your clothes and shoes is out. Pink hairband matched with pink handbag and shoes if tastefully done will work, but let’s not get tempted much. There are a lot of colors to play with. Have a blast.

Fifth- Keep your floaters at home. Floaters maybe the most comfortable thing on your shoe rack but keep them for home and market. Floaters are a big ‘NO’ for college.

Sixth- Avoid the cakey-look. Smoky eyes, blood red lips are good in a club but not in college. Too much of make-up makes you look like a wannabe. Go for a simple look. Nude lipstick and light make up will give you the required radiance.

Our advice is to wear jeans or linen pants to stay free and comfortable. GoodLuck and have a blast.
