Mutton Keema and Peas – Easy to cook recipes

Here at maabeti.com we are trying to come up with easy to cook recipes for the every busy working moms. Mutton keema is easy to make, and is rich in nutrients for your kids. 

Peas add in a special color and flavor to the minced meat. You can alternate this with chicken keem too or subsitute potatoes instead of peas. 

 

 

Ingredients

·         Mutton Keema- 250 gms

·         Green Peas – I cup

·         Oil

·         Onions Chopped – 2 medium

·         Tomatoes – 1 chopped (medium sized)

·         Ginger grated- one small piece

·         Garlic chopped 2-3 cloves

·         Green chillies 1-2

·         Coriander Powder

·         Cumin Powder or Garam Masala

·         Red Chilli Powder ¾ teaspoon

·         Lemon Juice

·         Salt to taste

·         Fresh Coriander leaves chopped to garnish

   

 

Method of Preparation –

Heat oil in a pan, add green chillies and sauté for a minute. Now add cumin seeds and when they sizzle add onions. Stir till they are golden brown in color. Add ginger and garlic. Add tomatoes and salt and cover it with a lid. Let it cook on the medium flame for 2-3 minutes.

Add dry masalas to this. Red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and cook for another minute.

Now add the minced mutton sauté for 3-4 minutes as it absorbs the flavor of all spices. Add 3/4th cup of water and cover the lid. Cook on the medium flame for half hour till the mutton is cooked well. Check for the water content to avoid sticking on the bottom of the pan.

Now add peas and cook for another 10 minutes. Add garam masala for that additional flavor.

Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with bread/naan/rotis.
