Summer fruits that should be part of your daily diet

 Indian summers arrive with blazing heat, sweaty bodies, dehydration and lot of pain. It is very important to keep ourselves hydrated in the summer. We can do that by intake of fruits and vegetables. Summer fruits provide an instant boost of energy. They help in keeping your system cool during harsh summers.

1.     Water Melon

It’s time for the watery melons. Water Melon is the symbol of summer as it has around 90 percent water which helps keep your body hydrated. This fruit has lycopene, which has the property of protecting skin from the sun damage.

2.     Mango

Mango also known as the king of fruits is loved by many people. Mangoes are high in calories but have a number of nutrients like Vitamin A, C, D, iron, potassium and calcium. It will help you get through the season as it consists of immunity strengthening properties.

3.     Papaya

Papaya is another great fruit that can be eaten during summers. The fruits can be eaten dried, ripe or unripe. They are rich in Vitamin A, C, folate and a variety of phytochemicals.

4.     Berries

Berries like raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries are a great source of fiber. They are filled with antioxidants, which can protect skin from the harmful effects of the sun. They are also rich in Vitamin C and fiber.

5.     Guava

Guava has a lot health benefits like fiber and potassium and still it is often neglected as they come with seeds and are hard. Guava can improve metabolism, complexion, eyesight and mental health.  It also reduces menstrual cramps.

6.     Litchi

Litchi is a fruit that only exists during summer season. Litchis are known for its great resource of potassium, polyphenols and vitamin C and B. They also have good water content so it helps hydrate body.

7.     Musk Melon

Musk Melon is the most nutrient melon. They are rich in Vitamin A, C, lutein and zeaxanthin. Musk melons provide hydration which is important for summers.

8.     Kiwi

Kiwi is a fruit that can be spotted in any season in supermarkets. It is filled with nutrients like Vitamin A, C, B6, magnesium and iron. They have a high water content that is very essential for this energy sucking weather.
