Contribute to us

MaaBeti.com welcomes contributions from readers!
Being a small team, we are finding it difficult to handle the volume of email enquiries we receive, so we’d appreciate if you contribute your thoughts and suggestions on the topics which are closer to your heart.

We are NOT at the moment looking for general feature writers; however, if you have some expertise in a particular topic, feel free to pitch us an idea. For e.g. entrepreneurs are welcome to talk about business challenges, doctors can write about health issues relevant to women, HR experts on workplace issues and so on.

We will take a call on a case to case basis depending on how relevant a topic is at a given time and the quality of your writing. Enquiries accompanied by a feature idea and a previous writing sample will be given preference over general enquiries.

Topics ranging on women starting home based businesses in India. Features involve varying levels of research, depending on the topic and often include interviews with other subject experts. Features are usually written on careers, parenting or health.

Personal stories on relationships

We’ve launched our Relationships section with interesting, thought-provoking personal stories from women of all ages. If you have a story you’d like to write about for us, send in a pitch to content@maabeti.com. The topic is broad and could potentially cover a wide variety of stories – troubled parent-child relationships, a difficult time with an adolescent, an inspiring grandparent, the end of a marriage – your story could be of any relationship; all we ask is that you tell it interestingly (and stories must be relevant to an Indian audience).

Please include a writing sample (anything relevant you’ve written before; need not be published) along with your e-mail.

Blogs

We welcome bloggers on a regular. Currently, posts on our blog revolve around social and women’s issues, parenting, relationships and career issues. Other ideas welcome too.

All enquiries to editor at MAABETI.COM with ‘Writing Enquiry’ in the subject line

Writing such as reviews, blog posts or field notes are not currently paid for, but you’re assured of a wide readership plus a link to your blog/website. Writing must be original and we’d prefer if you don’t use the same piece elsewhere.
